WoW Leveling Guide lvl 60 – 80

You Reach Outland at Level 58

The last major advent in the leveling process hits with level 58, your entry into Outland. The quests become more complex and creative, but with the addition  of flying mounts in the level 58 arsenal it has become much easier.

Levels 59 and 60 will be gained with blazing speed, after which it will slow down somewhat. Still, for Outland in particular the experience now moves quickly enough that clearing all of Hellfire and Zangarmarsh will get you at least to level 65, if not 66.

At this point, there is a little grunt work to be done in Nagrand with Nessingwary’s second set of hunting quests, as well as the arena quests known best as the Ring of Blood, a popular quest that you should be able to find groups for at almost any time of day.

At 67, this I recommend you  to Netherstorm, pick up every quest you can, and complete them all for bulk turn-ins. This will usually net you enough experience to reach level 68 in a matter of two or three hours, and allows you to move on to Northrend.

Once you reach Northrend, you’ll notice a similar experience trend to the one you saw at level 58 through 60. The two levels up to 70 will come very fast, and after 70 they will slow down drastically.

Grinding From 70 – 80

The final ten levels are the only real grind left in the leveling process, and a widely preferred alternative to questing at this point is queuing for battlegrounds (Alterac Valley in particular has decent experience rewards) and soaking experience from tower captures and victories.

Personally I believe  questing is still faster, but in Northrend especially the quests can be maddening to figure out due to generally poor descriptions of locations in the quest text.  Again a good in-game helper will payoff dearly.

It’s a good idea to focus on clearing one zone at a time, so that your quest log stays organized and easy to read, otherwise you may pull your hair out trying to decipher the clues as to where to go and what to find or kill. It gets a little more tolerable after level 77, when you can use the gold you are accumulating to purchase Cold Weather Flight training and move around faster.

Once you reach level 80 you get a gift basket in the mailbox with useful potions, and you can start enjoying the endgame content. Hopefully the leveling process has taught you how to play your class well.
