Holy priests are greatly appreciated in raids and instances but a shadow priest can come in very handy in any type of game play in the World of Warcraft. Priest guide will cover all the major issues and talent builds for a Shadow priest, both for PvE and PvP. A shadow priest is a typical damage dealer. Most of his spells are instant but dealing good damage will only come if the rotation of your spells is done properly. You’ll be explained more on how to do a significant amount of dps while playing a shadow priest.

When it comes to raids and instances a shadow priest is a valuable asset to his group since he has spells that not only do damage but also heal up and retrieve mana back to the group. For PvP a shadow priest is also good but since he is a cloth wearer without much armor his gear needs to have a lot of resilience and stamina.

A priest Flash Heals and Greater Heal, and Party Heals like Prayer of Healing, aoe heals like Circle of Healing, instant heals like Prayer of Mending and HoTs aka healing over time spells like Renew. When it comes to the gear, priest’s gear needs a lot of spirit, intellect and mp5 (mana per 5 seconds) since a good healing priest will be greatly dependent on his/her mana pool.

However, if you want to dedicate your time to PvP and do more arenas and battlegrounds then a some experts like to suggest a Discipline build. As mentioned before PvP will require your gear to have a lot of resilience and stamina. A full discipline priest with a good PvP gear is basically unbeatable in arenas or battlegrounds and is a “killer” for other casters and healers since he can mana burn his opponent quite fast.

When it comes to buffs, a priest is greatly cherished in any type of game play because he has Stamina buff and Spirit buff. He can dispel diseases and magic and could also do a mass dispel on the targeted area. A priest can also shackle undead, fear and fade, and if he is short on mana he has his mana fiend to help him out.
